Atlantis

We ventured out to the newly open Atlantis Hotel on the Palm and visited the Lost Chambers - which is the Aquarium. Although Duane is currently boycotting it (they have captured a juvenile whale shark which is now on display which is causing quite a bit of controversy in the city, and until they release "Sammy" he isn't going there so he tells us) we went anyway! We went on a weekday to avoid the crowds, so Duane couldn't come anyway! IT WAS AMAZING! I was very impressed and thought the aquarium was sensational. I can't wait to visit the water park which is supposed to be brilliant too. The day was made even more memorable, while during lunch Mum spotted Michael Douglas walking past our table in the restaurant we were eating at. Yep really was him - I had Eloise run to the window right next to his table, so of course I had to follow her and just double check Mum wasn't seeing things. (Yes, shameless I know, using poor Eloise in a celebrity stalking.........) Apparently Catherine was in the room :-( - so we didn't get to check her out. We all thought cool experience nevertheless- our first famous person sighting in Dubai (like over the world famous! We once saw Dean Jones, but I don't think he really counts as a real celebrity!)
