The Maldives are beautiful and everything that the postcards promise. We had pretty lousy weather - but expected as we were travelling during their Monsoon season - and were probably the only people at our resort who didn't mind the rain, wind and storms. For us it made a nice change from the intoxicating Dubai summer we have been experiencing. I was still completely over it having only been home 1 day! We were pretty lucky with the weather, although it was generally bad, most of the storms and rain were at night and we did get some lovely sunny days or moments. It was still warm and fine to swim - so we didn't mind it being overcast most of the time.
We stayed at the Four Seasons Kuda Huraa resort and it is nothing short of amazing. Everything about it was sensational and we had a blissfully relaxing time. We loved our Villa and it worked out really well for Eloise too. She spoilt us all week with 2 hour naps every afternoon, which is most unlike her. I could definitely get used to that!
We were on the beach which was perfect, although Eloise didn't much like the beach and became a bit of a princess whenever we made her walk. She just stayed on the spot and refused to walk until we gave up and picked her up. No amount of coaxing could make her move. The beach had areas of broken coral and shells making it awkward to walk without hurting your feet in some areas - Eloise didn't like this. She has also decided she doesn't like the sand and anytime her feet or hands got sandy, she would offer them to you to brush them off. Quite the princess!
Our 5 nights came to an end pretty quickly and although we didn't want to leave, we knew home was awaiting us. We would definitely love to return here one day and can recommend it to anyone thinking about it.
Duane and Eloise about to board our boat in Male to head to our Resort.

Having fun on the steps of our bungalow's pool.
Duane & Eloise take a swim at the beach - loved the water, it was so clear and the colour is amazing.
The beach - this was just outside our bungalow.........looking left
.......now looking right.
Princess Eloise showing Dad her sandy feet and lifting them for him to wipe off.
Oh no - Dad refuses to wipe them and now I'm sitting in it - what shall I do???
Sunset view - not the best sunset we've ever seen - but still lovely
Lazing in our Bungalow's pool - it was so nice!
Both of us having a swim - you can see our beach view and the bungalow is really private with the landscaping, giving you the best of both worlds.
Eloise & Duane take a dip.
Eloise playing with the water spoon - to wash off your feet after being at the beach.
View down to the water bungalows.
Having fun in the sand (this was before she realised how much she didn't like it)
The postcard view - the Resort's spa was on it's own island and you had to take a boat to get there. They had the best massage rooms I've ever seen. Massage was good too!
Duane teaches Eloise what to do with the snorkelling equipment.

Taking some small tentative steps on the beach.
A night out for us while Eloise was left with the babysitter.
Snacking at the pool bar.
Some quiet time before bed.
Eloise & I - doing our best not to get blown of the jetty - the winds were really strong!
